Choose firefox versions

First of all what version of firefox you wont? Check on website :

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all

Download

You can download firefox with wget, put in your terminal:

For x64

Terminal

wget https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/64.0/linux-x86_64/en-GB/firefox-64.0.tar.bz2
  

For x32

Terminal

wget https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/64.0/linux-i686/en-GB/firefox-64.0.tar.bz2
  

Uncompress archive

Terminal

tar jxvf firefox*.tar.*
  

Move firefox folder in /opt/firefox

From this point you can use sudo or begin root

sudo mv firefox /opt/
  

Terminal

sudo ln -s /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox
  

Terminal

sudo mv /opt/firefox/browser/chrome/icons/default/default48.png /usr/share/pixmaps/firefox.png
  

Desktop entry

To create a desktop entry you need to make a file.desktop application

Terminal

sudo touch /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop && sudo nano /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop
  

And copy and paste this in firefox.desktop
